| | Sally Pitcher, Independent Agent, says: | | A traditional stone cottage, which has been sympathetically restored, this charming 3 bedroom residence, is set within a small hamlet in the Breton countyside. It offers practical, well-designed living space, which is easy to care for and a garage. It would make the perfect second home, with plenty of rental potential, if required. It comes with a small garden, the exact dimensions of which are negotiable. | You enter the property to find a simple, well-designed layout. To the right, there is a kitchen and dining room, complete with woodburner. There is a sitting room and bedroom to the left. There is also a ground floor WC. On the first floor there are two double bedrooms, a shower room, and a mezzanine. This property combines the traditional and modern very well. On the one hand, there is exposed stone, a glimpse of tasteful French wallpaper, and original Breton floor tiles. In other rooms, there are clean, neutral lines, modern oak flooring and newly installed electric heating. This is a lovely cottage, with character and practicality. However, there the pièce de la résistance has to be the super modern, multi-jet massage power shower. It adds a little luxury, and a little indulgence – just what we’re all looking for whilst on holiday. The cottage overlooks peaceful country scenes, and is a little oasis of calm, despite being near a number of lively market towns. This property is situated in the Morbihan, the Southern most département of Brittany. It is well located to access both the market towns of Carentoir and Ploermël. . A short drive will lead you to the charming port of Redon, whereas the vibrant city of Nantes is just an hour away over the border into Western Loire. The surrounding area has a smattering of market towns full of character, which are popular with tourists. Malestroit & Questembert are close by. This is a popular investment area. This region enjoys a warmer climate than the North coast of Brittany. It offers the dramatic, rugged Atlantic coastline, long sandy beaches; both tourist hot spots and secluded bays, plus the inland delights of its many pretty villages. The nearest beaches are just 50 minutes away. Yachting, golf, and equestrian sports are available in the local area. South Brittany is located far enough away from the UK to really feel ‘abroad’ but is close enough to offer the security of knowing family & friends are not too far away at all. Possibly the best-served area of France for travel links. This is one of the few areas accessible via ferry or airplane. You will be able to access your home in Brittany by air from North & South England, Wales & Ireland via budget airlines. Air Travel is possible from Nantes – Dublin, East Midlands, Stansted.
