| | Tim Clark, Independent Agent, says: | Deceptively spacious house with four double bedrooms, sous-sol garage/workshop, plenty of living space and a good sized attached garden. Mains drainage and new roof 2007. | Close to one of the local Chateau’ stands this well renovated detached house. There are a couple of basic decorating jobs to finish but that is it. Very private behind the well kept laurel hedge the house has a wonderfully sunny terrace. You can enter through one of the three patio doors at the front or into the entrance at the side. This door opens into a wide hallway where the original wooden floors and arched doorway create a lovely feature. To the right you will find the first bedroom, a good sized double of some 12m2 with a French door onto the garden. Opposite is bedroom number 2. Again a good sized double with doors onto the garden once again flooding the room with sunlight. The owners have then converted what was the third bedroom into a study where stairs lead to the first floor loft conversion. I will finish off downstairs first though. Back into the hallway and you will find a nicely fitted shower room with separate WC. Then at the end of the hallway a door opens into the traditional style fitted kitchen. The newly fitted units and appliances will all stay and they compliment the traditional wooden floors. Glass fronted doors open into the large lounge/ dining room. Where a feature fireplace and exposed beams complete the period feel. On the first floor you have 2 double bedrooms, both served by the second bathroom set off the landing. A last doorway in the hallway leads down into the sous-sol area. This matches the footprint of the house and is sectioned off as follows. A long garage area, suitable for two cars. A great utility are, boiler room which houses the central heating boiler and how water tank and then a cellar area. So much useful space it makes you wonder why we don’t have the sous-sol idea in the UK. The garden surrounds the house and measures 945m2, there is then a small parcel of woodland measuring 875m2 just along the lane. In summary a fine house, well renovated and ready to just arrive and enjoy.
