| | Susan Delves, Independent Agent, says: | This pretty stone longère would make a great holiday home. It is set in a small hamlet of lovely green countryside but very close to a thriving village and all that has to offer. For the DIY enthusiasts amongst you, there is plenty of scope for renovating the other half of the longère the small barn or the outbuilding. | If you owned this house, you would be close enough to the coast to enjoy the beautiful beaches but you would also be in the quiet of the country side to enjoy leisurley walks. 5 minutes drive away is the local village with it's bars, boulangerie, hairdressers, Doctors, Dentist, Post office schools and large supermarket.
Half has yet to be renovated, so there is plenty of scope to make it larger. From the front you enter the lounge with fireplace and woodburning fire, off this there are two bedrooms a kitchen and a shower room. As it is presently all on one floor it makes it easy to maintain, lock up and walk away from. All it needs is a fresh coat of paint and a bit of TLC and it could be a lovely place to escape too. A door from the kitchen leads onto the rear fenced garden and covered area, great for hanging the washing, a nice place to enjoy breakfast in the sunshine!
At the side of the property is a small barn with double doors, this houses the water tank where the water is pumped from a local fountain. To the right of the property is a small outbuilding which you may be able to make into further accomodation if you wished. There are plenty of local facilities for children too, with clubs ranging from...music, tennis, horseriding, fishing and many more.
The local area is beautiful and less than half an hour from the Emerald Coast with its clean sandy beaches and safe swimming. Lamballe and Dinan are two of the nearest large towns with weekly markets, plenty of shops, bars and restaurants amongst their half timbered buildings. Lamballe is also famous as the home of Brittany's working horse breeding and training centre and Dinan is a magical blend of Medieval splendor and modern style not to be missed.
Access is very easy, just 40 minutes away are the ferries of St Malo which arrive from Portsmouth, Poole and the Channel Islands or Dinard airport with its regular RyanAir flights from East Midlands, London, Birmingham and Bristol. If that's not enough, in easy reach are Roscoff, Brest, Rennes, Nantes, Caen and Cherbourg with a variety of ferries and flights from all over the UK; there are also TGV services to Rennes, Lamballe and soon, to St Malo.
